Revolution Chairman and CEO Steve Case sat down with PBS NewsHour Weekend to discuss efforts by startups to raise cash in the 21st century and the new opportunities for investors created by the JOBS Act,specifically the crowdfunding provision that enables entrepreneurs with a new avenue for raising capital from individuals. Steve made the case for the need to spur economic growth, expand local business and increase avenues for entrepreneurs to raise capital. “We need to really make sure we’re doubling down on our nation’s entrepreneurs,” says Case in the segment. “The JOBS Act will help do that by providing more entrepreneurs in more places in more sectors of our economy the ability to raise the capital, either to get started or to grow their company.” Watch the full segment HERE and read Steve’s statement on the recently released crowdfunding proposal by the Securities and Exchange Commission HERE.
