Last night at the Annual Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards, Revolution won accolades for one of our key principals as well as for one of our portfolio companies. We’re proud of the noteworthy recognition from the best and brightest of the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Revolution co-founder Tige Savage was named Financier of the Year, a testament to Tige’s dedication to the greater DC and Northern Virginia community over the past two decades. Tige was a co-founder of Revolution and co-leads Revolution Ventures. Tige is also an active mentor and board member of more than a dozen Revolution portfolio companies – many of which are located in the area – including AddThis, LivingSocial, newBrand Analytics, Snagfilms and UberMedia. Prior to co-founding Revolution, Tige was vice president of Time Warner Ventures, where he led a team focused on investments in technology and next-generation media companies for AOL, HBO, Time, Inc., Time Warner Cable, Turner, and Warner Bros.
Revolution Growth portfolio company Echo360 was also recognized as a premier startup, with Tony Abate being named Emerging Growth CFO of the year. Echo360 is disrupting the edtech sector with its blended learning approach, allowing universities to record, host, stream and manage all of its lectures and content, thereby offering a valuable supplement to classroom learning. Currently, Echo360 is being used by more than one million students in 6,000 classrooms at 500 institutions in 30 countries, including several in the DC area. Revolution Growth’s Donn Davis is a board member.
The Revolution team applauds Tige and Tony for their leadership and innovative approach in helping to build up the region’s growing tech and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We expect much more in the years to come!
