Booker Achieves Triple Digit Revenue Growth For Fourth Year

NEW YORK, NYBooker (formerly GramercyOne), a service management platform (SMP) that unifies operations and automated marketing on a single cloud-based system, today announced impressive revenue growth, new hires, and additional office space. For the fourth consecutive year, Booker has achieved triple-digit revenue growth. To keep up with the growing demand for its platform, the company tripled its headcount in 2012, to over 160 employees, and plans to hire an additional 70 employees in 2013. In addition, Booker has expanded to a second floor in its lower Manhattan headquarters that overlooks the World Trade Center, doubling its footprint to 33,000 square feet.

Booker is capitalizing on this momentum by expanding its sales leadership team with two seasoned executives: Chief Revenue Officer Tom Karrat, and VP of SMB Sales Seth Weingarten. Tom and Seth bring proven track records of scaling revenue at both early-stage startups and global technology leaders. Booker will leverage these new executive hires to support the development of its go-to-market strategy by expanding its direct sales team, entering new markets, and building strategic partnerships.

Tom Karrat joins Booker with over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing leadership and brings deep expertise in expanding technology organizations. He oversees Booker’s go-to-market strategy; managing the company’s sales, marketing, and business development teams to collectively accelerate revenue growth and drive market share. Prior to Booker, Tom was EVP of Sales and Marketing at Mimeo.com and previous to that EVP of Sales at Yahoo! HotJobs, where he helped both companies nearly double their revenue. Prior to Yahoo! HotJobs, Tom was a member of the five-person executive team that sold Storage Apps to Hewlett-Packard in 2001. He began his career as a Northeastern University co-op student at EMC, eventually working his way up to Divisional VP. Tom currently serves on the advisory board of Yodle.

As VP of SMB Sales, Seth Weingarten manages the training, development, and execution of Booker’s local sales teams in the company’s New York and California offices. He brings over 10 years of technology sales management to Booker, and most recently served as VP of Sales at Mimeo, where he was responsible for $70M+ in annual revenue. Prior to Mimeo, Seth held various leadership positions at Yahoo! HotJobs, including Director of East Coast Sales & Client Services and Regional Sales Manager. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Psychology and Business.

“We are proud to be closing out another great year, highlighted by major product enhancements, strong revenue growth, and an expanded world-class team,” said Josh McCarter, CEO of Booker. “Each day, we are building real value for our clients by improving their operations, giving them more time to focus on satisfying their customers and expanding their business.”

Last month, Booker launched a pilot for Deal Maker, an enhancement to Booker’s automated marketing feature, which brings yield management and dynamic pricing to local service businesses by identifying, promoting, and filling off-peak appointments. Earlier this year, Booker appointed Matt Mahoney as VP of Business Development; Tracey Kaufman as VP of Customer Experience; Joel Lafferas VP of Marketing; and Chris Kwabi as VP of Engineering.

“Booker is very unique in that it combines the essential components of running a service business into one simple offering that becomes their system of record,” said new Chief Revenue Officer, Tom Karrat. “I am excited to be joining a company with such an innovative product and I look forward to helping Booker continue its impressive growth.”
