Ted Leonsis is co-founder and Partner at Revolution Growth and a nationally recognized entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and sports team owner.

He is the founder, Chairman, Managing Partner, and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment platforms. Under his leadership, MSE owns eight professional teams, including the NHL’s 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the 2019 WNBA Champion Washington Mystics, the 2021 and 2020 NBA 2K League Champion Wizards District Gaming, and the NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go.

Ted is also a co-owner and co-chairman of aXiomatic Gaming, which holds a controlling interest in global esports organization Team Liquid. Revolution Growth is also invested in aXiomatic.

He serves on the Boards of Governors of the NBA, NHL, and WNBA. His league leadership roles include serving on the NHL Executive Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee, serving as Chairman of the NBA Advisory/Finance Committee, and serving as Chairman of the NHL Media Committee.

A longtime champion of education, Ted is Chairman of the District of Columbia College Access Program (DC-CAP), a nonprofit scholarship organization supporting D.C. students pursuing postsecondary education. He also serves on the boards of several public companies, including American Express, Tempus, and Groupon, and is the former vice chairman and president of AOL.

During his nearly 14-year career at AOL, Ted held a range of senior leadership roles, including President of America Online Services Company, President of AOL Studios, President of AOL Web Properties, Vice Chairman and President of AOL Core Services, Vice Chairman and President of AOL Audience Business, and Vice Chairman Emeritus. AOL experienced its highest levels of innovation and growth during his tenure, and in May 2010, the company named The Leonsis Creative Center in his honor. He retired from active management of AOL in 2006.
