Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB)
SparkPeople.com, America’s largest diet and fitness website and one of the largest healthy living sites, today announced that it has teamed up with Entertainment Radio Network (ERN) to launch SparkPeople Radio, a weekly, one-hour branded show available on SparkPeople.com, ERNLive.com, Aha Radio, iTunes, and Stitcher. Launched on October 17, SparkPeople Radio provides listeners with the latest in healthy living news and tips across health, fitness, nutrition and motivation. The show is hosted by Lily Hills and Karen Hudson. Hills is an award-winning author, health and fitness coach and the creator of the Master Your Mind Master Your Weight Coaching Program. She and Hudson have been best friends for 34 years and are youth and women’s empowerment trainers and inspirational keynote speakers.
“We are thrilled to partner with a category leader like ERN to introduce SparkPeople Radio,” said Chris Downie, Founder and CEO of SparkPeople.com. “SparkPeople Radio is a terrific platform for us to further expand the SparkPeople movement, which is helping millions of people have fun, reach their goals and live healthier lives. Audio and radio are indispensable parts of our strategy to build multi-platform capabilities, and offer entertaining health content that will enable us to reach our members in a dynamic way wherever they are and via whatever medium they’d like.”
In addition to audio and radio, SparkPeople delivers its healthy living content via its websites, mobile apps, books, e-books, fitness DVDs, online videos, and third-party social sites.
SparkPeople Radio will feature interviews with SparkPeople’s many experts, including Downie, a motivation expert, World Master Chef and Healthy Cooking Expert Meg Galvin, Fitness Expert Nicole Nichols, who was named America’s Top Personal Trainer to Watch by the American Council on Exercise, and Becky Hand, a registered dietitian, community health activist and radio personality, among others. Each week will bring an hour of motivation, tips and advice. Whether it’s quick and painless ways to save calories and eat healthier, reviews of food and fitness products, quick tips to balance healthy living with a busy lifestyle, or hearing directly from inspirational members how they lost weight and kept it off, there’s something for everyone who wants to lead a healthier, happier life.
“Our President John McConnell and I entered this partnership because we loved SparkPeople’s mission and we saw that SparkPeople has dynamic, entertaining content and an extraordinarily engaged and passionate audience,” said Alan Taylor, CEO of ERN. “But we underestimated just how engaged and just how passionate. The tens of thousands of downloads during the first few weeks of our soft launch far exceeded our expectations and has broadened the scope of possibilities. We look forward to working with SparkPeople to further expand the distribution of SparkPeople Radio across both digital and terrestrial radio.”
