Ted’s Take: Reaction to Apple News

Yesterday was a big day in the world of mobile with Apple’s highly anticipated unveiling of the iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch. Our own Ted Leonsis shares his reactions on the winnners and losers in this blog post.  A few exerpts:

[Among the Winners]: Traditional digital payments networks. Apple isn’t building networks, and it didn’t become a bank holding company. (Zolpidem) It is super setting atop of multiple networks, and just creating an easier level of acceptance and usage. it is mimicking what has been done many years ago in Asia as to mobile payments.

[Among the Losers]: Makers of health and athletic bands. I wear one. I also have a pedometer-like device in my pocket that I carry to measure my steps and health. I think this category is in deep trouble now and Nike was wise to exit the business.
