Revolution Dominates 2015 Washingtonian Tech Titans List

Every other year Washingtonian magazine compiles it’s Tech Titan list – naming 100 of the most influential and exciting people in Washington’s growing technology scene – from upstart entrepreneurs, to industry stalwarts, government, media, influencers and of course, investors. This year we are proud to share that Revolution and our portfolio companies had a huge showing on the list. Making the list in 2015 from the Revolution family:

  • Steve Case, Chairman and CEO, Revolution LLC
  • Ted Leonsis, Founder and Partner, Revolution Growth
  • Tobin Moore, Cofounder and CEO, Optoro
  • Fred Singer, CEO, Echo360
  • Susan Tynan, Founder and CEO, Framebridge
  • Adam Vitarello, Cofounder and President, Optoro
  • Mark Walsh, Chairman, Homesnap

Since the last list was published in 2013, there have been many exciting changes in the D.C. tech and startup scene. In that time, Revolution launched the Revolution Ventures fund and made investments in more than a 15 new companies, several of which are based in the Washington, D.C. region. Since 2011, our two funds have invested a total of $185 million in D.C. area companies and are proud to be a part of their accomplishments.

According to PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association, in the first quarter of 2015, 38 Washington-area companies raised $329.9 million in funding or 55 percent higher than the first quarter of 2014. Impressive figures for any region in the first quarter, which is historically slower than the rest of the year.

We are excited about what the rest of 2015 will bring for Revolution and our portfolio companies. Congratulations to the men and women who made the 2015 Tech Titan list!
