Revolution Companies Recognized as DC-Area’s Hottest

Last week at the Annual Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Hot Ticket Awards, three companies in the Revolution portfolio won accolades among the best and brightest of the region’s entrepreneurial technology firms.

The recognition is a testament to the innovative approaches pioneered by newBrandAnalyticsResonate, and Echo360 and to the power of disruptive thinking that can reshape industries. For these three companies that means adopting new approaches to improve customer service in the hospitality sector, rethinking advertising in the digital age, and delivering education services in an era of hyper-connected students. NewBrandAnalytics, Resonate, and Echo360 embody the Revolution philosophy: fresh thinking that leverages technology and new business models to create breakthroughs.

The Awards also showcased the vibrant start up incubator that the DC region has become. From the District, to Bethesda, to the Dulles corridor, our entrepreneurial economy has developed considerably over the past decade, and is on a trajectory for sustained growth. Not only is the area now home to hundreds of startups, the venture capital industry continues to see a healthy increase in activity. According to the National Venture Capital Association, in the first quarter of 2012 the Washington DC region ranked ninth nationally with more than $200 million invested in forty local companies – continuing the upward trend since 2009.

We expect much more to come in the years ahead!
