Friday, March 11:

Join two of the world’s most prominent technology pioneers, investors and philanthropists and Ben Johnson of Marketplace Tech — as they share a roadmap for innovators and entrepreneurs who want to change the world in this rapidly evolving, “internet of everything” economy.

Inclusive Entrepreneurship Panel at SoFin@SXSW
Location: Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que ; 217 Congress Avenue
Our own Allie Burns, SVP of Communications will participate in a panel discussion on inclusive entrepreneurship in the US. Moderated by Maria Lajewski of the Center for Financial Services Innovation, the panel will also feature Ross Baird of Village Capital, Jerry Nemorin of LendStreet, and Justin Davis of the Kapor Center for Social Impact. Part of the SoFin@SXSW event, the discussion will highlight opportunities to invest in and support entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds and from “Rise of the Rest” regions.

Jade Floyd of Revolution and The Case Foundation will lead a conversation on “hashtag activism.” Powerful #hashtags like #BringBackOurGirls, #PrayForParis, #GazaUnderAttack, #OccupyWallStreet, #GivingTuesday, and #BlackLivesMatter take over social media and momentous moments in time. Today more than half of all Facebook and Twitter users get news from the sites giving them immediate access to information. #Hashtags are a critical component of learning what is driving the news conversations around the globe.

Tech.Co’s Startup Night at SXSW (RSVP required)
Location: Maggie Mae’s, 323 East 6th Street
Join Tech.Co (formerly Tech Cocktail) for one of the largest parties at SXSW Interactive to celebrate entrepreneurship, communities, and technology. The Third Wave book by Steve Case is excited to serve as a co-sponsor of this year’s event, which will host twenty of the hottest startups and thousands of technology enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. Tech.Co events are aimed at helping build and strengthen local tech start-up communities.
